Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar says he didn’t leave Barcelona in order to win the Ballon d’Or.
It’s long been suggested Neymar quit the spanish giants to get out of the shadow of Lionel Messi.
But Neymar denies the rumours.
«No, I did not leave Barça to become the best player in the world, nor to win the Ballon d’Or, he said to France Football.
«I left because I wanted new goals. Nothing to do with wanting to win the Ballon d’Or or not wanting to be in the same club as Messi.
«It was an honor to play with him. He is my friend and I will always love him.»
It has been written in the media for the last few months that Neymar might return to Spain.
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have been linked with the Brazil star.
